The Mandate

The year 2000, was a special year for us.
It was the year we had our first Mandate Men’s Conference. A few hundred guys gathered in North Acton to grapple with many of the issues that many of us were facing. Issues about leadership, issues regarding sexual purity, issues concerning the emotional or physical absence of fathers or father figures in our lives.
To shed light on these areas, we got one of the considered experts on leadership to come and share with us. Dr Myles Munroe duly helped us with a sermon entitled ‘Unlocking the Leader in You’, while I shared ‘What they didn’t teach you about sex’. We were blessed to have Rod Readhead, Tony Cotterill and renowned psalmist Adlan Cruz.
The feedback we received made it clear that this could not be a ‘one off’ event, and so an annual conference and a movement was born. Since then, we have welcomed back Dr Myles on many occasions along with Dr A R Bernard, Steve Farrar, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, Paul Scanlon, Kirk Whalum, Ben Tankard and many more.
Our Mandate Men’s Breakfast, regarded as the icing on the cake of the conference, welcomed Ken Costa, Lord John Taylor, Jonathan Aitken, Graham Dacre, Gary Grant and others.
After a while, as with any organisation or movement, it is always necessary to take the time to refocus and ensure that the vision is still fit for purpose. In 2010, we did just that and we are now ready to get on with the business of changing men’s lives, homes, communities and churches.
To help us we welcome an old friend as well as a new one.
Paul Adefarasin, who we heard from in 2004, is well known for his clear message of hope, healing and empowerment. He is an Author, Motivator and Conference speaker, and is a respected and sought-after international speaker. His weekly television programme “SOMETHING IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN!” is broadcast into millions of homes across Africa and Europe.
We also welcome Rob Parsons from Care for the Family. As author of bestselling books ‘The Sixty Minute Father’ and ‘The Money Secret’ Rob is well placed to share some key insights on being a transformed man. Of course, we look forward to The Mandate Men’s Breakfast on Saturday 3rd at 8:30 am, with Chris Hyman, the chief executive of Serco whose company literally serves millions of people across the world by providing essential services.
I really look forward to welcoming you back at Mandate Men’s Conference 2011.
So go ahead, Register now!
